Woman axed for shoplifting 40 years ago

A Wisconsin woman was fired from her job for a shoplifting crime she committed - 40 years ago.

Wells Fargo bank axed its employee of five years, Yolanda Quesada, after discovering that she was a shoplifter in 1972.

Apparently the crime had happened when Quesada was fresh out of high school.

"I just got the FBI report on Saturday in the mail," New York Daily News quoted Quesada as telling the Milwaukee Sentinel.

"Monday, they said you're fired. They never let me say what happened, explain myself, nothing," she said.

A spokesman for Wells Fargo explained that company policy forbids continuing the employment of anyone with a criminal record, the Sentinel reported.

Quesada, however, hopes to get her job back.

"I think I should get it back because it's something I did 40 years ago. I paid for it. I've changed my life," WAVE 3 News quoted her as saying. (ANI)
