Milwaukee Film Festival group taking over Oriental Theatre

The nonprofit organizer of the annual Milwaukee Film Festival has signed a long-term lease to take over year-round operations of the Oriental Theatre, and is planning major expansions to the organization, its programming and the annual festival.
Jonathan Jackson, artistic and executive director of Milwaukee Film Inc., said taking over the Oriental Theatre will vault the independent nonprofit organization from overseeing 15 days of film to 15 films per day.
