The Arizona Diamondbacks are expected to place first baseman/designated hitter Pavin Smith on the 10-day injured list with a quadriceps issue, MLB.com reported Thursday.
Smith, 29, was lifted from Wednesday's 3-2 win at Milwaukee in the seventh inning with tightness in his left quad.
He returned to Phoenix for testing prior to Thursday afternoon's series finale with the Brewers.
Smith is batting .258 with eight homers and 28 RBIs in 87 games this season. He is a career .246 hitter with 45 home runs and 180 RBIs in 448 games since making his Diamondbacks debut in 2020.
