Braeden Carrington and Owen Foxwell scored 16 points each, and Hofstra transfer Victory Onuetu added 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead Wisconsin to a 73-64 win over Delaware on Friday night in Madison.
Wisconsin (2-0) overcame 26 points from Delaware's Chuck Bailey III, a transfer from Nevada who had 10 of his team's 36 points in the second half. Bailey also finished 5 of 7 from behind the arc in the game.
The Badgers didn't make a basket over the final 4:57 of the game, but they converted 16 points off turnovers and outrebounded the Blue Hens 42-32.
Delaware (1-1) made 12 of 25 3-point attempts but only 21 of 59 field goals.
The Blue Hens scored the first seven points of the second half to knot the game at 35. Bailey had five of those points.
The Badgers responded with a 15-4 run to take a 50-39 lead with 14:01 to play. Foxwell had seven consecutive points during that stretch.
Delaware only got as close as nine the rest of the way, and the Badgers pulled away with a 13-3 run in just under four minutes, taking a 71-52 lead on a pair of Eian Elmer free throws with 4:18 to play.
Foxwell, a point guard who played the last five seasons professionally in Australia, made four free throws during that stretch and six in the second half.
The Badgers have eight new players from the team that finished 24-11 last season and made it to the NCAA Tournament. Elmer and Nolan Winter scored 11 points each for Wisconsin against Delaware, giving the Badgers five players in double figures.
The Badgers led 35-28 at halftime, with eight points each from Carrington and Winter.
