Maruti Suzuki India Limited, having suffered a 25.1 percent decline in sales in May 2019 has introduced fresh discount and exchange schemes across all of its models on sale in the country with the exception of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It is for the fourth consecutive month that the country's largest automaker has registered a fall in sales.
In February 2019, sales dipped 0.8 percent which went down 1.6 percent in March 2019 and further dipped 17.2 percent in April 2019. To clear out pending stocks and to make good some of the losses suffered, the company has introduced a new list of discounts and exchange bonuses for June 2019.
The Maruti Suzuki Alto BS VI and Alto K10 manual variant are being offered at cash discount of Rs.18,000 along with an exchange bonus of Rs.20,000. Government Employee Benefits go upto Rs 2,500. The company is also gearing up for the Alto BS VI compliant variant to be launched in the country. This entry level hatchback was spotted on test which is slated to be powered by a 1.0 liter engine from the Alto K10 which will meet new BS VI norms coming into effect from March 2020.
Alto K10 AMT and all variants of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio are being offered through the month of June 2019 at cash discounts of Rs.23,000 along with exchange bonus of Rs.20,000. The Eeco is being offered at Rs.8,000 discount on the CNG variant and Rs.3,000 discount on its petrol engined counterpart along with a Rs.10,000 exchange bonus.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR, launched in January 2019, comes in with no cash discount but exclusively with a Rs.15,000 exchange bonus while the Maruti Suzuki Swift all variants except the LXi is offered through the month of June 2019 at cash discount of Rs.13,000 and exchange bonus of Rs.20,000. Buyers of the Swift LXI get cash discount of Rs.18,000 along with exchange bonus of Rs.20,000.
The Maruti Suzuki DZire and Brezza are also offered at cash discounts of Rs.18,000 respectively while the exchange bonus on the DZire is at Rs.20,000 and on the Brezza at Rs.15,000. Discounts on the Ignis is at Rs.20,000 cash discount and Rs.25,000 exchange bonus and on the Baleno it is limited to only and exchange bonus of Rs.15,000.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz - Sigma, Delta and Zeta variants can be bought at a cash discount of Rs.15,000 and exchange bonus of Rs.35,000 while the Automatic and Alpha variants are only offered with exchange bonus of Rs.35,000. The S-Cross carries a cash discount of Rs.20,000 and Rs.35,000 in the form of an exchange bonus while the company is not offering any discounts or exchange bonus on the new generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga introduced in November 2018. The reason being, Ertiga is the only new car which is posting huge increase in sales, while others are posting decline.
