CHICAGO, Illinois: United Airlines briefly grounded flights across the U.S. and Canada on September 24, after a technical problem prompted it to ask federal regulators to halt departures, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The pause, which lasted less than an hour, was lifted after the airline resolved the issue. United did not specify the cause of the disruption and did not immediately respond to requests for further comment.
The incident follows a similar glitch in August that forced the carrier to halt flights at major hubs, including Newark, Denver, Houston, and Chicago. This triggered widespread delays before operations resumed within a few hours.
