Jack Sanborn
#57
MLB
1 p.m. --Add linebacker Jack Sanborn to the list of players who won't take the field when the Cowboys battle the Broncos.
Sanborn was ruled out of the contest not long ahead of kickoff, due to a groin injury he could not work through in pregame workouts. Joining Sanborn in being ruled out over the past 24 hours is Juanyeh Thomas, the veteran safety continuing to suffer migraines that also kept him from traveling with the team this weekend.
Donovan Wilson was also ruled out against the Broncos due to injury, and other inactives include Ajani Cornelius, Jay Toia and Jonathan Mingo, as Mingo was activated just this week from injured reserve and continues to be ramped up.
Trevon Diggs was initially ruled out on Friday due to concussion, but has since been moved to injured reserve.

S
2:00 p.m. --In addition toTrevon Diggs being placed on injured reserve Saturday, the Cowboys ruled safety Juanyeh Thomas (migraine) and C Cooper Beebe (foot) out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Beebe had his 21-day return to practice window opened on Wednesday this week after spending the previous four weeks on injured reserve, and he'll stay on the injured/DFR list. Brock Hoffman will start in his place. As for Thomas' absence, the Cowboys will likely look at Markquese Bell and Alijah Clark to start at safety.
From the practice squad, DB Corey Ballantine and RB Malik Davis were elevated to the active roster for Sunday.
-------------
Donovan Wilson
#6
S
3 p.m. --Trevon Diggs isn't the only starting defensive back ruled out against the Denver Broncos, the All-Pro still in concussion protocol this week.
Joining him on the sideline will be Donovan Wilson, the veteran safety also ruled out but due to an elbow and shoulder injury. Already absent is Malik Hooker, currently on injured reserve, so the absence of Wilson and Juanyeh Thomas' current battle with migraines create a question of depth at the position in Week 8.
Neither DeMarvion Overshown nor Shavon Revel, both seeing their 21-day practice window opened, will play against the Broncos, both having been ruled out, but Cooper Beebe was listed as questionable and, as such, has a shot at being activated from IR by the Cowboys a decision the club will make on Saturday.
"We're gonna look at it one more time he's borderline right now," executive vice president and director of player personnel Stephen Jones told 105.3 the Fan on Friday. "Certainly we miss him. I'm a big Beebe fan and I know he wants to play, but we've gotta make sure he's ready to go."
Tyler Guyton
#60
T
4:20 p.m. --Cowboys left tackle Tyler Guyton was added to Thursday's injury report with a glute injury, and he was listed as a limited participant in practice.
Aside from Guyton's addition, everything else stayed the same across the board from Wednesday's listing, including both CB Trevon Diggs (concussion) and S Donovan Wilson (elbow/shoulder) not practicing.
The Broncos lead the NFL in sacks with 34, so Dallas certainly hopes that Guyton's injury isn't one that will end up sidelining him on Sunday.
-------------
Trevon Diggs
#7
CB
4:35 p.m. --After missing last week's game with a concussion, Trevon Diggs was one of two players who did not practice on Wednesday.
Diggs was at The Star but not at practice, leaving his status for Sunday's game in Denver still uncertain.
Also on the injury report as a DNP (Did Not Practice) was safety Donovan Wilson, who is nursing both an elbow and shoulder injury.
-------------
Jalen Brooks
#83
WR
1:15 p.m. --On Wednesday, the Cowboys brought back one of their UDFAs from the 2025 class in CB Zion Childress, signing him to the practice squad.
Childress, who initially made Dallas' 53-man roster after the preseason, was waived shortly afterwards but resigned to the practice squad and was elevated twice. In late September, the Houston Texans signed him to their active roster. Childress was waived by the Texans on Monday, and now returns to where he began his NFL career.
The open spot on the practice squad came from the Cowboys placing WR Jalen Brooks on the practice squad/injured list.
-------------
Jonathan Mingo
#81
WR
3:45 p.m. --The journey back to the field is officially completed for Jonathan Mingo.
The veteran wide receiver was activated from injured reserve to the active 53-man roster on Tuesday, giving him a chance to try and make some waves for a Cowboys' offense that is currently the best in the league, but that also includes a bottleneck of talent at receiver.
"We'll activate [Mingo], for sure," said executive vice president and director of player personnel Stephen Jones to 105.3 the Fan. "So he'll be moving up and on the roster, and competing to get snaps. That receiving room has gotten pretty spicy, so he's gonna have to get in there. He's got an element to his game that we don't have rare size and speed, and he's a physical player, and he'll be one to get on the field."
Trevor Keegan has been moved to injured reserve in a corresponding move, the offensive lineman having yet to play for the Cowboys in 2025.

Shemar James
#50
LB
9:21 a.m. -Rookie linebacker Shemar James continues to thrive in his role as the starting linebacker. Now, he needs votes from Cowboys fans to earn his first weekly award.
James is among the nominees for Pepsi Rookie of the Week after his game Sunday. James made a critical sack and forced fumble on Jayden Daniels, who also was knocked out of the game on the play with a hamstring injury.
Fans can vote for James athttps://www.nfl.com/voting/rookies/

Shavon Revel Jr.
#34
CB
4:58 p.m. --In his Monday press conference, Brian Schottenheimer provided injury updates on five Cowboys players, as Dallas is continuing to trend towards getting some of their best play makers back.
Schottenheimer announced that the team will open the 21-day return to practice window for C Cooper Beebe, CB Shavon Revel Jr, andLB DeMarvion Overshown.Additionally, WR Jonathan Mingo will be activated off of injured reserve and return to the 53-man roster. Those moves will likely occur on Wednesday so that the Cowboys can maximize on the windows.
Lastly, Schottenheimer said that CB Trevon Diggs, who suffered a concussion in an accident at his home last Friday, is still in concussion protocol. Diggs met with the team's medical staff on Monday, and they sent him home.
-------------
Jonathan Mingo
#81
WR
12:15 p.m.DeMarvion Overshown isn't the only playergetting good news this week from the Dallas Cowboys.
Jonathan Mingo, also vying to return from injured reserve from a knee injury, his having been suffered in the preseason, returned to practice three weeks ago, and will be activated to the 53-man roster this week as the Cowboys prepare to visit the Denver Broncos.
"We'll activate him, for sure," said executive vice president and director of player personnel Stephen Jones to 105.3 the Fan. "So he'll be moving up and on the roster, and competing to get snaps. That receiving room has gotten pretty spicy, so he's gonna have to get in there.
"He's got an element to his game that we don't have rare size and speed, and he's a physical player, and he'll be one to get on the field."
Jake Ferguson
#87
TE
6:13 p.m. --The stats continue to pile up for Jake Ferguson, who caught two more touchdowns Sunday, giving him a career-high six already this season.
He's the first tight end in NFL history to have 50 catches, six TDs in the first seven games of the season.
Ferguson has now caught a touchdown in four straight games, joining Jason Witten as the only tight ends in Cowboys history with such as streak.
While he only had 29 yards, Ferguson did catch all seven on the passes targeted in his direction.
-------------
Donovan Ezeiruaku
#41
DE
5:29 p.m.- It was a day of firsts for many players, including Cowboys rookie Donovan Ezeiruaku, who recorded his first NFL sack.
The second-round pick from Boston College got the fourth-quarter sack on Marcus Mariota near the goal line, almost recording a safety for the Cowboys defense.
Ezeiruaku entered the game fifth on the Cowboys with 14 pressures, but the only player among the top 5 without a sack. But that changed on Sunday.
-------------
Brandon Aubrey
#17
K
4:44 p.m. --With a 61-yard field goal in the second quarter against the Commanders, Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey now holds the record for most career 60+ yard field goal makes in NFL history.
Sunday afternoon's was the fifth 60+ yarder for Aubrey, who accomplished the feat in just his third NFL season. Aubrey passed former Cowboys kicker Brett Maher, who finished his career with four.
With a 47-yarder earlier in the game against Washington, Aubrey now moves to 14-14 on field goal attempts in 2025.
-------------
1:55 p.m. --Two of the Cowboys starting defensive backs will be absent when they take the field against the Commanders.
Trevon Diggs was ruled out unexpectedly with a concussion on Friday, and Juanyeh Thomas missed practice time this week due to migraines that led to the safety being listed as questionable before being ruled out on Sunday afternoon.
Thomas was moved to the role of starting free safety with Malik Hooker on injured reserve.
Other inactives against the Commanders include Ajani Cornelius, Trevor Keegan, Jay Toia and Marshawn Kneeland the latter still working through an ankle injury that's limited him as of late.
Caelen Carson
#21
CB
1:00 p.m. --After hyperextending his knee in training camp, second-year CB Caelen Carson has been activated off of injured reserve and back on the Cowboys' 53-man roster.
Carson's return gives the Cowboys more depth and the cornerback position, and his return comes at a good time with Trevon Diggs (concussion) out for Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Additionally, Dallas elevated RB Malik Davis from the practice squad for Sunday. Wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, who is still on the reserve/DFR list, was ruled out and will remain on injured reserve for now. His 21-day return to practice window, which started on the same day as Carson's, will close on Wednesday.
-------------
Juanyeh Thomas
#2
S
3:25 p.m. --On Friday's injury report,Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs (knee/concussion) was officially ruled out for Sunday's gameagainst the Commanders, hours after HC Brian Schottenheimer announced that Diggs would not play.
The only other Cowboy that is listed as out is G Trevor Keegan with a neck injury. Six Cowboys are questionable, including S Juanyeh Thomas (migraine) who was limited Thursday and did not practice Friday. Joining him is CB Caelen Carson (knee), T Ajani Cornelius (knee), DE Marshawn Kneeland (ankle), WR Jonathan Mingo (knee) and DT Mazi Smith (ankle).
The good news? All three of WR CeeDee Lamb, G Tyler Booker and WR KaVontae Turpin have no injury designation and are good to go on Sunday, as are DE James Houston, LB Jack Sanborn, G Tyler Smith and S Donovan Wilson.
On the flip side for Washington, they'll be without their star WR Terry McLaurin (quad), and potentially WR Deebo Samuel (heel) as well, who is listed as questionable.
-------------
Jack Sanborn
#57
MLB
3:45 p.m. --Cowboys linebacker Jack Sanborn (concussion) was upgraded from limited participation Wednesday to being a full participant on Thursday's injury report.
That puts him in line to return Sunday against the Washington Commanders, rejoining a linebacker group that has struggled in recent weeks. The only changes to the injury report Thursday were OL Trevon Keegan (neck) not participating after being limited Wednesday, and Juanyeh Thomas (migraine) being limited.
For Washington, Pro Bowl WR Terry McLaurin (quad) did not participate Thursday after being limited Wednesday. McLaurin has missed the last three games for the Commanders, and his status for Sunday against Dallas is in question.
-------------
KaVontae Turpin
#9
WR
3:48 p.m. --On Wednesday's practice report, every player on the Cowboys' 53-man roster was, at the very least, a limited participant in practice.
That includes WRs CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin as well as right guard Tyler Booker, who have missed the last few games with an injury. Barring any sort of setbacks, the three appear to be trending in the right direction towards playing on Sunday against the Commanders. Starting LB Jack Sanborn also returned to practice, as he nears the end of the NFL's concussion protocol.
Ajani Cornelius, Trevor Keegan, Marshawn Kneeland, Jonathan Mingo, Tyler Smith and Donovan Wilson were the other Cowboys players that were limited participants on Wednesday. Caelen Carson, Trevon Diggs and James Houston were all listed with knee injuries, but fully participated.
On Washington's side, WR Terry McLaurin practiced in a limited capacity after missing the previous three games for the Commanders. Former Cowboy and now Commanders DE Dorance Armstrong (hamstring) did not practice, and many of Washington's veteran starters did not practice on Wednesday, using it as a rest day.
-------------
Jalen Cropper
#16
WR
3:45 p.m. --After clearing waivers, the Cowboys re-signed WR Jalen Cropper to their practice squad on Wednesday afternoon.
Cropper, who was signed to the active roster last week as the Cowboys were without CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin, has already been elevated twice this season and has one elevation remaining.
The only way practice squad elevations reset in the regular season is if Cropper were to have signed with another team, been waived, and been brought back to the Cowboys. Since that hasn't occurred, Cropper can be elevated one more time before either spending the rest of the year on the practice squad or being signed to the active roster again.
-------------
Jalen Cropper
#16
WR
4:35 p.m. --On Tuesday, the Cowboys waived WR Jalen Cropper, who was elevated twice in Weeks 4 and 5 and then signed to the active roster before Week 6 while the Cowboys were without CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin.
Cropper had primarily served on special teams as both a kickoff and punt returner for the Cowboys alongside Jaydon Blue in the absence of Turpin.
Should Cropper clear waivers, he'll be able to re-sign with the Cowboys practice squad. The move to waive him opens up a spot on the roster for any of KaVontae Turpin, Jonathan Mingo or any of the other injured players that the Cowboys are optimistic will be able to return from injury soon.
-------------
Jonathan Mingo
#81
WR
12:30 p.m.Help is seemingly on they for the Cowboys on both sides of the ball heading into their Week 6 matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Caelen Carson and Jonathan Mingo both returned to practice on Oct. 1, opening their 21-day window to possibly be activated from injured reserve and avoid missing the entire season.
As the expiration approaches on that window, the Cowboys are expected to activate both to the 53-man roster this week.
"I feel like both will be ready to go this week," executive vice president and director of player personnel Stephen Jones told 105.3 the Fan on Monday, following the 30-27 loss to the Panthers. "Both should be activated this week."
George Pickens
#3
WR
5:32 p.m.If there is a doubt whether George Pickens can be a No. 1 receiver, he's doing his best to erase those concerns. Although the Cowboys couldn't come up with the win, Pickens did more than his share, posting a career-high nine receptions for 168 yards and another touchdown.
Pickens became the seventh player in franchise history to post a streak of five straight games with a receiving touchdown, and the first since CeeDee Lamb.
Pickens also joined Dez Bryant (2013) as the only players in Cowboys history to have six TD catches in the first six games of a season. He's the first to do so in his first six games with the franchise.
While Lamb could return as early as next week, Pickens, who is in the final year of his contract, is proving he can be the go-to receiver when called upon.
-------------
Dak Prescott
#4
QB
5:28 p.m.With his 261 yard passing performance on Sunday against the Panthers, Dak Prescott surpassed Troy Aikman's 32,942 career passing yards for the second-most passing yards in franchise history with 33,054.
The only player ahead of Prescott now is Tony Romo, who holds the franchise record with 34,183 passing yards. That leaves Prescott 1,129 yards behind him.
With 11 games remaining and the Cowboys hoping to get CeeDee Lamb back in the near future, Prescott is on pace to pass him this season.
--------------------
Shemar James
#50
LB
4:21 p.m.After recording 17 tackles last week in his second career game, Shemar James made the start for the first time and led the team in stops once again.
James was credited with 11 combined tackles on Sunday in Carolina.
The NFL game book sometimes gives a different number of tackles for defensive players after the game, only to have the number change up or down after the coaches review the game film. James was given 15 tackles after last week's game and finished with 17. So his total of 11 this week could be altered.
Still, it's another double-digit performance for the rookie, who replaced Jack Sanborn (concussion) in the lineup.
--------------------
Hunter Luepke
#40
RB
3:36 p.m.The first touchdown of the game Sunday occurred in a rather unique way for the Cowboys.
When Hunter Luepke hauled in Dak's first-quarter pass in the end zone, he became the first fullback in 17 years to catch a touchdown for the Cowboys. Luepke is the first since Deon Anderson had a TD reception in 2008.
Luepke now has two career touchdowns one rushing and one receiver.
---------------
Tyler Smith
#73
OL
11:30 a.m. --Tyler Smith, after missing last week's victory over the New York Jets active only in an emergency capacity due to a knee issue, will take the field against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.
CeeDee Lamb will have to wait at least one more week before, however, returning from a high ankle sprain suffered in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears. The All-Pro wide receiver was ruled out of the matchup against the Carolina Panthers, given more time to recover, and the same is true of rookie first-round pick Tyler Booker, also listed as inactive for the Week 6 matchup.
KaVontae Turpin joins them with a foot injury of his own, while linebacker Jack Sanborn is out due to a concussion suffered last week in New York. Though Miles Sanders was originally ruled out, he has since been moved to injured reserve by the Cowboys ending his season.
The remaining inactives against the Panthers are defensive tackle Mazi Smith and offensive lineman Ajani Cornelius.
-------------
Jalen Cropper
#16
WR
1:25 p.m. --On Saturday, the Cowboys officially placed RB Miles Sanders on injured reserve, where he'll be out for the remainder of the 2025 season. In his place, the Cowboys signed WR Jalen Cropper to the active roster with the open spot.
Dallas also elevated veteran WR Parris Campbell from the practice squad, giving the Cowboys some depth at wide receiver with both CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin out.
Also out will be WR Jonathan Mingo and CB Caelen Carson, who are still within the 21-day window after being activated off of injured reserve. They came into the game as questionable, and Dallas has decided to keep them on the reserve/DFR list for their Week 6 game.
-------------
Tyler Smith
#73
OL
3:00 p.m. --Seven Cowboys players are questionable for Dallas' Week 6 game on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. On theofficial injury reportis CB DaRon Bland (shoulder), CB Caelen Carson (knee), OT Ajani Cornelius (knee), CB Trevon Diggs (knee), DE Marshawn Kneeland (ankle), WR Jonathan Mingo (knee) and OG Tyler Smith (knee).
Five players are ruled out, including OG Tyler Booker (ankle), WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle), WR KaVontae Turpin (foot), LB Jack Sanborn (concussion) and RB Miles Sanders (knee/ankle), who Cowboys COO/co-owner Stephen Jonesannounced would be placed on season-ending injured reserve on Fridayduring an interview with 105.3 The Fan.
It's certainly a long list for Dallas, but one of the good pieces of news is that OT Tyler Guyton (concussion) carries no injury designation and is set to start at left tackle for the Cowboys. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer said earlier on Friday that Guyton and Tyler Smith were both trending positively towards playing on Sunday.
On Carolina's side, they'll be without RB Chuba Hubbard (calf), CB Akayleb Evans (hamstring), OT Taylor Moton (elbow) and DT Turk Wharton (toe). With Hubbard out, former Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle is slated to get a majority of the carries this week for the Panthers as he faces off against his former team.
-------------
Tyler Guyton
#60
T
10:45 a.m. --After being cleared from concussion protocol yesterday, Cowboys LT Tyler Guyton is expected to re-enter the starting lineup on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, per owner and general manager Jerry Jones.
"It's likely that he'll be in there absent some setback here these next couple of days." Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.
Jones did add that it's also likely a lot of the same depth players that started for the Cowboys last week will still play against Carolina Sunday because they don't have everybody back just yet, and they'll need to dress out some extra players, including potentially an extra offensive linemen.
-------------
Dante Fowler Jr.
#13
DE
3:30 p.m. --Dante Fowler is coming off of his best game of the season thus far in his return to the Cowboys, but he's now dealing with illness that sidelined him and kept him out of Thursday's practice.
The veteran pass rusher still has time to recover and potentially make the trip to face the Carolina Panthers, but his status is currently to-be-determined, as is that of Miles Sanders, who was downgraded to DNP in his second practice of the week having been inactive against the Jets due to a knee and ankle injury.
Donovan Wilson, however, returned to practice after being absent on Wednesday with an elbow and knee issue, in a limited capacity, and starting left tackle Tyler Guyton officially cleared concussion protocol and, as such, was a full participant with medical clearance to travel and take the field.
The good news continues in that Marshawn Kneeland practiced for a second day in a row, albeit limited, after missing last week's victory over the Jets with an ankle injury.
KaVontae Turpin
#9
WR
3:30 p.m. --It could be at least one more week before KaVontae Turpin is back on the field for the Cowboys.
The All-Pro returner and dynamic wide receiver missed the Week 5 contest against the Jets with a foot injury, and he's not yet up to full speed as of Wednesday, labeling himself as "day to day" and stating the likelihood is he'll miss this weekend's matchup with an eye on returning against the Commanders in Week 6.
Donovan Wilson appeared on this week's injury report with an elbow and knee issue that caused him to miss practice, sidelined along with CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Booker and Jack Sanborn, the latter suffering a concussion against the Jets.
Returning to practice was Tyler Guyton, however, as he works to clear concussion protocol limited on Wednesday in his first on-field action since entering the protocol during the eventual tie with the Packers in Week 4.
Julius Wood
#32
S
10:30 a.m. --A somewhat familiar face is on its way back to Dallas to join the Cowboys at a position of need.
Julius Wood has been signed to the team's practice squad as they begin preparation to face the Carolina Panthers, an area of the country Wood is extremely familiar with from his collegiate playing days.
An East Carolina product signed initially as an undrafted free agent by the Cowboys in 2024 following that year's NFL Draft, Wood re-enters the team's roster after veteran safety Malik Hooker was moved to injured reserve a few days prior, opening up a need for depth and insurance at the position.
An ex-teammate of rookie third-round pick Shavon Revel at East Carolina, Wood made waves in his rookie training camp before narrowly becoming a casualty in final roster cutdowns, claimed by the Titans following his release from Dallas, but he'll get another shot in 2025.
Nate Thomas
#71
T
10:30 a.m. --It can't be overstated just how impressive the Cowboys' offense was against the Jets, and not simply because Dak Prescott, Javonte Willams and Ryan Flournoy had their way.
None of that would have been possible if not for the high level of play delivered by the offensive line, and one that was down not one, or two, or three, but four starters entering their Week 5 contest in New York, and against a defensive line headlined by All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams effectively shut down by Dallas' backup O-line.
So when considering what the Cowboys were able to do in that capacity, Nate Thomas joined others in offering high and deserved praise for offensive coordinator (a former offensive line coach) Klayton Adams and offensive line coach Conor Riley, both in their first season with the Cowboys to begin the Brian Schottenheimer era.
"Yeah, they do a great job, honestly, of just making sure that we are put in the right situations, making sure we prepare, seeing that whatever types of looks they give us, that we can go up there and block it," said Thomas. "Huge shout out to them. They make sure we're prepared every week."
-------------
CeeDee Lamb
#88
WR
12:15 p.m. --After dealing with widespread injuries that ultimately led to multiple starters and depth players being ruled out on Sunday, could the Cowboys be getting healthier in the near future?
It's possible, according to Cowboys COO/co-owner Stephen Jones on 105.3 The Fan, as the group of CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Booker, Tyler Smith, Tyler Guyton and KaVontae Turpin were among those in a group he said had a chance to be back in the next two weeks.
Guys who might take a little bit longer to return include Malik Hooker, who was place on IR Saturday and needs to miss the next three games at least, as well as Cooper Beebe and DeMarvion Overshown. That said, Jones did say that they would not be looking "a lot past the bye" when it comes to a time those players could be back on the field.
-------------
Shemar James
#50
LB
5:32 p.m.When the Cowboys lost middle linebacker Jack Sanborn early in the game to a concussion, it opened the door for rookie Shemar James.
The fifth-round pick apparently didn't need the door open much because he busted right through it, finishing the game with 15 tackles.
It's obviously a career-high for James, who was playing his second game after his debut last week.
It's the most tackles by a Cowboys player since Sean Lee had 17 in a game back in 2015.
-------------
Jaydon Blue
#23
RB
5:21 p.m.The rookie running back made his debut and got a few touches on offense.
But his biggest contribution occurred in special teams when Blue returned a kickoff 32 yards and nearly broke it open for a huge play.
He had four carries for seven yards but the Cowboys made sure to feed Javonte Williams, who had his best day of the season with 135 rushing yards and two total touchdowns.
-------------
George Pickens
#3
WR
5:17 p.m.-- With a 43-yard touchdown haul over Sauce Gardner on Sunday afternoon in the second half, WR George Pickens now has a team-leading five receiving touchdowns on the season through five games.
Five receiving touchdowns are the most that a wide receiver has caught in their first five games with the team in franchise history.
Pickens finished the day with two receptions for 57 yards and the score.
-------------
Dak Prescott
#4
QB
5:15 p.m.-- As Dak Prescott continues to play some of the best football of his career, he's also continuing to move up in the franchise history books.
On Sunday, he recorded his 41st three touchdown game in the regular season or the playoffs, passing Tony Romo for the most in franchise history. It was his 12th game with four passing touchdowns, also the most in franchise history.
Last but certainly not least, Prescott passed Romo in career pass attempts (4,354) to move to second place in franchise history.
-------------
Javonte Williams
#33
RB
1:54 p.m.- Running back Javonte Williams eclipsed the 100-yard mark in the first half, thanks to a 66-yard run at the end of the half.
Williams' run was not only the longest of his career, but the longest since Alfred Morris had a 70-yarder in a 2017 game.
Williams became the first Cowboys player to have five touchdowns this season.
-------------
Jack Sanborn
#57
MLB
1:53 p.m.- After playing just a few snaps in the first quarter, linebacker Jack Sanborn left the game and was diagnosed for a concussion.
After walking to the locker room and spending the rest of the half inside, the Cowboys officially ruled Sanborn out for the remainder of the game to start the third quarter.
Sanborn entered the game as the leading tackler with 36 stops on the season. In his place, rookie Shemar James took most of the snaps on defense in Sanborn's place.
-------------
Jaydon Blue
#23
RB
11:30 a.m. --Jaydon Blue will officially make his NFL debut for the Cowboys when they take on the Jets at MetLife Stadium.
He will see his first action as running back Miles Sanders joins the inactives list in Week 5, due to a knee and ankle injury suffered in the tie game versus the Packers.
The list of inactives features a list of impact talent all sidelined with injury headlined by CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Booker, Tyler Guyton and KaVontae Turpin, along with Marshawn Kneeland (ankle injury) and Jay Toia.
Tyler Smith, having missed every practice this week with an ankle injury, is active but expected to be emergency depth for an ailing offensive line.
-------------
Malik Hooker
#28
S
12:35 p.m. --The Cowboys placed S Malik Hooker (toe) on injured reserve Saturday after Brian Schottenheimer said earlier in the week that his injury would cause him to miss "a couple weeks."
Juanyeh Thomas is set to start in Hooker's place on Sunday, and for the next four weeks at the very least.
Hooker will be eligible to return in Dallas' Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on November 3.
-------------
Alijah Clark
#38
DB
12:34 p.m. --As a result of Hooker being moved to IR, the Cowboys used the open roster spot to sign UDFA safety Alijah Clark to the active roster.
Clark, one of Dallas' highest-paid UDFA's from the 2025 class out of Syracuse, gives the Cowboys depth at the safety position going forward.
The safety room for the Cowboys will consist of Donovan Wilson, Juanyeh Thomas, Markquese Bell and Clark going forward at least for the next four games.
-------------
Jonathan Mingo
#81
WR
12:33 p.m. --After having their 21-day practice windows opened earlier in the week, WR Jonathan Mingo and CB Caelen Carson will remain on the Reserve/Designated to Return list on Sunday after being ruled as questionable.
The Cowboys elevated WR Jalen Brooks and WR Jalen Cropper for Sunday's game against the New York Jets, both of whom can contribute for the offense and on special teams.
The 21-day window for Mingo and Carson closes on October 22, where the Cowboys will either need to add them to the active roster or place them on season-ending injured reserve.
-------------
Tyler Smith
#73
OL
3:14 p.m.- The Cowboys already have two offensive linemen named Tyler that will be out for Sunday's game with the Jets. Right now, Tyler Smith could be a third.
The Cowboys listed Tyler Smith as questionable for the game despite having three straight DNP (Did Not Practice) designations on the injury report as he continues to battle a knee injury.
Both Tyler Booker (ankle) and Tyler Guyton (concussion) have been ruled out for Sunday's game, along with CeeDee Lamb (ankle), KaVontae Turpin (foot) and Malik Hooker (toe).
Along with Tyler Smith, others listed as questionable for the game are Marshawn Kneeland (ankle), Kenneth Murray (knee), Miles Sanders (knee/ankle) and then two still on IR - Jonathan Mingo and Caelen Carson, who both started their 21-day practice windows this week,.
The Cowboys will have to create a roster spot for either Mingo or Carson for them to be activated to the roster and play Sunday.

11:45 p.m. --It's beginning to look more and more as if the debut of Jaydon Blue will land this weekend for the Cowboys as they visit the Jets in Week 5.
The rookie running back has been working toward finally taking the field in 2025, and with injury to both Miles Sanders and KaVontae Turpin, the Cowboys will likely look to Blue's speed to help offset the potential losses this weekend.
"It's trending in that direction," said head coach Brian Schottenheimer. "But nothing's final. We'll get through today and the next couple of days but, no matter what it is, it's because of what Jaydon's done. I've been hard on Jaydon in the past talking about the word consistency he's been more consistent, showing up and mastering what we're trying to do from an offensive standpoint, and we're real pleased with him."
On the opposite side of that news coin, starting left tackle Tyler Guyton remains in concussion protocol on Friday, putting his availability for Sunday's matchup in New York in very real jeopardy, adding to a list of injury issues across the Cowboys' offensive line.

4:00 p.m. --Second-year Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland was added to Dallas' injury report on Thursday, being listed as limited with a knee injury.
Kneeland was the only new addition to the injury report. For the second straight day, all seven of OT Tyler Guyton (concussion), OG Tyler Smith (knee), OG Tyler Booker (ankle), WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle), WR KaVontae Turpin (foot), S Malik Hooker (toe) and RB Miles Sanders (knee/ankle) did not practice.
Also for the second straight day, CBs Trevon Diggs (knee) and Caelen Carson (knee), WR Jonathan Mingo (knee) and LB Kenneth Murray (knee) were limited in practice. Cornerback DaRon Bland (foot) was the lone full participant once again.
The Cowboys have now only gotten more banged up as they prepare for a tough road test against an 0-4 Jets team that's hungry for a victory. The only change for New York on their injury report was placing RB Braelon Allen (knee) on injured reserve.

Juanyeh Thomas

3:50 p.m. --Earlier on Thursday, Cowboys defensive coordinator confirmed that safety Juanyeh Thomas would get the start for Dallas this week as Malik Hooker nurses a toe injury. It'll be the second career defensive start for Thomas, who came in late against the Packers after Hooker's injury and played 49 snaps at safety.
""It's something I've been practicing for," Thomas said on Wednesday. "I know my role, I prep like a starter every week, so this is nothing different... This was a chance for me to come in and see if I can help. Like I said, I practice for this moment. I won't do anything different, I'll just see what I can do."
It'll also be a big moment for the Thomas family as Juanyeh will play against his younger brother, Jets rookie CB Azareye'h Thomas, for the first time.
"The day after he got drafted, we were just sitting there talking like 'Man, we used to dream, we used to talk about this, we used to train for this.' Now, it's just crazy." Thomas said.

Trevon Diggs

CB
3:45 p.m. --Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs admitted that he had a "rough week" leading up to Dallas' Week 4 game against Green Bay. As a result, he did not start for the Cowboys and instead, Kaiir Elam and DaRon Bland handled the cornerback duties on the outside with Reddy Stewart in the slot.
"I guess coach was holding me accountable, and I accept it,"Diggs said on Wednesday."It's cool. [I'm] back on track this week and ready to work. Just a rough week."
As the team heads into Week 5 against the Jets, Diggs expects to start again in New York, with the chance to once again share the outside corner spot with Bland and keep Stewart inside. If not, it'll likely be Diggs and Elam on the outside, with Bland in the slot.

Tyler Smith

OL
3:45 p.m. --The Cowboys had a much longer injury report on Wednesday than they have in previous weeks, with a total of 11 players that were either listed as DNP or limited in practice. One of the more interesting names to pop up was OG Tyler Smith, who played the entire game against Green Bay in Week 4, not being at practice with a knee injury.
In addition to Smith, OG Tyler Booker (ankle), OT Tyler Guyton (concussion), S Malik Hooker (toe), WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle), RB Miles Sanders (knee/ankle) and WR KaVontae Turpin (foot) all did not practice. Cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) and LB Kenneth Murray (knee) were limited, along with CB Caelen Carson (knee) and WR Jonathan Mingo (knee), who both had their 21-day practice window from IR opened on Wednesday.
Brian Schottenheimer said in his press conference earlier on Wednesday afternoon that his team was "banged up," and injuries to Smith and Turpin that have come following a game they fully participated in are evidence for that being the case.

Parris Campbell

WR
12:45 p.m. --Parris Campbell is returning to sign with the Cowboys for a second time in 2025.
The veteran wide receiver will be added to the team's practice squad ahead of the Week 5 preparation to take on the New York Jets, his first stint with the team having come this summer, before going down with injury in training camp.
He was then waived with an injury settlement, but has since been medically cleared to return.
Campbell takes the seat vacated by linebacker Buddy Johnson, who was signed away from the Cowboys' practice squad by the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday.

10:00 a.m. --Cowboys rookie running back Jaydon Blue has been a healthy inactive for Dallas' first four games of the season, with Dallas loading up a little bit more on the defensive side of the ball with their game day roster given some injuries. There's been a lot of conversation surrounding when Blue could be finally made active, and Brian Schottenheimer says that Blue is "very close" to getting there.
"I challenged him a few weeks ago on being consistent. He's done that," Schottenheimer said. "He's becoming one of our best offensive practice squad players. He gives the defense an incredible look with his speed and playmaking ability, so very close."
Veteran running back Miles Sanders, who has gotten the next most carries behind Javonte Williams for the Cowboys this season, left Sunday's game early with an ankle injury. Schottenheimer said that it was minor and Sanders will have a chance to play on Sunday against the Jets. Even if he does, could the Cowboys make Blue active just in case?

Tyler Booker

G
5:00 p.m. --On Monday, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer gave several injury updates, including that as it stands, the team does not play to place WR CeeDee Lamb or OL Tyler Booker, who both have a high ankle sprain, on injured reserve. He added that both are "trending in the right direction," but that the team reserves the right to change their minds.
In Sunday's tie against Green Bay, OT Tyler Guyton went out with a concussion and is in the league's protocol, but Schottenheimer said he'll have a chance to play next week against the Jets. Safety Malik Hooker (toe) has an injury that could sideline him a couple of weeks, meaning that the Cowboys will likely see a lot of Juanyeh Thomas in his place at safety in the mean time. Lastly, RB Miles Sanders (ankle) had most tests come back clean and is trending towards being available to play against the Jets.
As the Cowboys move past the fourth week of the season, they can now begin to open the 21-day practice windows for players that started the season on injured reserve and the PUP & NFI lists. That includes players like CB Shavon Revel, RB Phil Mafah, WR Jonathan Mingo and CB Caelen Carson among others. Schottenheimer said the team will have conversations tonight and into tomorrow on whose windows could be opened this week.

Dak Prescott
#4
QB
9:22 a.m.Over anything else, Dak Prescott would've liked to get the win over the Packers in Micah's return to AT&T Stadium and to even the record at 2-2.
So a tie was still rather disappointing for the Cowboys quarterback, but in his 10th season, it's no surprise that he keeps piling on the records. On Sunday, Dak passed Troy Aikman (2,898) for most completions in franchise history. Dak had 31 completions on 40 attempts, giving him 2,901 now for his career.
He also extended his franchise record with 22 games with a rushing and passing touchdown, the most by any Cowboys quarterback.
When asked about the milestones, Dak toed the line on being respectful to the legends before him but also knowing the most important goal of being a quarterback for the Cowboys.
"It's awesome. It's something I never take for granted," Dak said about records. "It's not something that I'm patting myself on the back for, but it's something that I understand the history before me. I understand the players who have come before me and it's an honor, but at the end of the day I want to win games and I want to chase Roger (Staubach) and Troy (Aikman) and the accomplishments they have.

Jake Ferguson

TE
9:04 a.m.For the first time since catching three TDs in the playoff loss to the Packers, Jake Ferguson found the end zone. And of course, it's against the Packers at AT&T Stadium.
But for a guy who didn't catch a single touchdown in 2024 and not one in the first three games this year, Ferguson was glad to be back in the end zone yet again, catching a third-quarter score Sunday night.
However, Ferguson's biggest accomplishment has been in the overall receptions. He now has 34 this year, the most in NFL history by a tight end in the first four games. It's also the second-most by any Cowboys player after four games behind Amari Cooper, who had 37 in 2020.
