All-Pro wide receiverAmon-Ra St. Brownis active tonight for the Detroit Lions as they host the Dallas Cowboys at Ford Field for Thursday Night Football.
St. Brown left Detroit's Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers in the first quarter with an ankle injury and did not return. He sat out practice this week but said Tuesday the ankle was feeling better and if there was any way he could stop and cut the way he thought he needed to be effective, he wanted to try and play.
St. Brown leads the Lions in targets (108), receptions (75), receiving yards (884) and receiving touchdowns (9) this season. Dallas comes in ranked 29th in total defense (376.2) and 30th against the pass (251.5).
The Lions will have to navigate Thursday's contest without left guard Kayode Awosika, who was downgraded to out earlier in the day Thursday with a foot injury. We'll see what the Lions opt to do filling his spot whether that's Trystan Colon, rookie Miles Frazier or potentially shifting some players around.
Six players who were listed as questionable to play tonight on Wednesday's practice report - left tackleTaylor Decker, center Graham Glasgow, right tackle Penei Sewell, St. Brown, defensive back Brian Branch and running back Sione Vaki - are all active.
Joining Awosika on Detroit's inactive list tonight are: Wide receiver/returnerKalif Raymond, safetyKerby Joseph, tight end Hayden Rucci, defensive lineman Tyler Lacy and defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo. It will be the seventh straight game missed by Joseph with a knee injury after briefly returning to practice this week.
Prior to tonight's important NFC contest, the Lions signed cornerback Nick Whiteside to the active roster from the practice squad and elevated wide receiver Malik Cunningham from the practice squad. Detroit also placed tight endBrock Wrighton the Reserve/Injured list meaning he'll be out at least Detroit's next four contests.
