The streak is over!!!
For the first time since 2004, there is a repeat champion in the NFC East.
The Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders 29-18 on Saturday evening to wrap up the NFC East division title. Currently the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoff picture, the Eagles will host a game during Wild Card Weekend unless they finish as the No. 1 seed and earn home-field advantage for the playoffs.
No team since the Eagles won the NFC East from 2001-04 had won the division in consecutive seasons, marking the longest such streak of any division in NFL history.
The 2025 NFC East Championship is the 12th of Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie's tenure (32 seasons). The Eagles have won the most NFC East titles over that timespan.
The Eagles are now in the playoffs for the fifth year in a row, tying a team record (2000-04). 2025 will be the Eagles' eighth playoff appearance in nine seasons, marking the best nine-year stretch in franchise history. Under Lurie's leadership, this will be the Eagles' 20th postseason appearance.
This is Head Coach Nick Sirianni's third division title in his five years at the helm. He joins Bill Cowher and Chuck Knox as the only Super Bowl Era head coaches to make the playoffs all five times and win three division titles in their first five seasons.
Saturday's win was the 64th of his Eagles tenure, including playoffs, tying Pro Football Hall of Famer Greasy Neale for second in franchise history.
The Eagles are the first team to clinch a division title in 2025. The Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks have also secured a playoff berth in the NFC, while the Denver Broncos punched their postseason ticket on the AFC side.
