China-Cambodia-Thailand foreign ministers' meeting held, press communique issued

The China-Cambodia-Thailand foreign ministers' meeting was successfully held in Yuxi City, southwest China's Yunnan Province on Monday.

After the trilateral meeting, a press communique was issued, which made it clear from five aspects that Cambodia and Thailand will further enhance communication, deepen understanding, and gradually consolidate the ceasefire situation, restore mutual exchanges, rebuild political mutual trust, achieve a turnaround in relations, and maintain regional peace.

Following the signing of a joint statement agreeing to a ceasefire, Cambodian and Thai foreign ministers are leading delegations to meet in Yunnan from Dec. 28 to 29 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

S. Korea's special counsel finalizes graft probe into ex-president Yoon, wife

South Korea's special counsel on Monday finalized investigations into corruption charges of former impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife.

The team of independent counsel Min Joong-ki said in a statement, unveiled after wrapping up the 180-day probe, that it filed charges against a total of 76 people, including 20 indicted under detention.

It noted that the allegations against Yoon and his wife, Kim Keon-hee, were wide-ranging, including: stock price manipulation, accepting luxury gifts, illegally interfering in the relocation of the presidential office and residence, and illegally receiving political funds.

The special counsel team said the allegations, which had emerged even before Yoon took office, were both extensive in scope and significant in nature.

Trump says Hamas disarmament key to 2nd phase of Gaza peace plan

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he will try to get the second phase of the Gaza peace plan started very quickly, underscoring that the disarmament of Hamas would be a central condition.

"Very quickly, as quickly as we can, but there has to be a disarmament," Trump told reporters while welcoming visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Asked when Gaza reconstruction could begin, Trump said it is "going to begin pretty soon."

The second phase of the Gaza peace plan envisions a full Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas, the start of reconstruction, and the establishment of a transitional governing body in Gaza.

Zelensky says U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine fully agreed

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine have been fully agreed, the Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported on Monday.

Speaking with reporters after he met with U.S. President Donald Trump, Zelensky said a 20-point peace plan, part of the proposed peace deal, is 90 percent agreed upon, and the trilateral security guarantees involving the United States, Europe and Ukraine are "almost agreed."

Zelensky said the Ukrainian and U.S. teams will meet in January to finalize the issues discussed during his meeting with Trump.

He confirmed that a draft peace framework to end the war with Russia includes 15-year U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine, with the possibility of extension.
