Washington DC [US], January 19 (ANI): Canadian filmmaker and music video director Cole Walliser has dismissed allegations that global pop icon Jennifer Lopez was rude to him during her viral Glambot moment at the 2026 Golden Globes, saying he never felt disrespected during the interaction, according to People.
Walliser, the creative force behind the popular Glambot slow-motion red carpet videos, addressed the controversy in an Instagram video shared on January 18. The clip came after social media users accused Lopez of being dismissive during her Glambot shoot on January 11 at the awards ceremony.
While getting into position for the shoot, Lopez was seen facing away from Walliser as he directed her. A behind-the-scenes video showed the singer-actress posing for the camera before walking away with a wave, which some fans interpreted as rude behaviour, according to People.
Clarifying the situation, Walliser said he did not take the moment personally. 'I didn't take it personally. It didn't feel rude in that moment,' he said, explaining that Lopez was simply focused on completing the shoot as the red carpet was closing.
'She's just down to business. The carpet was closed. She's ready to go inside. She knew what she was going to do. She got into the position,' Walliser explained, adding that it was coincidental that Lopez's position had her facing away from him while he was giving directions.
'It's just unfortunate that the position was that she was facing away from me. So I am talking to her; she is looking away, but she's getting ready for the move,' he said, noting that he fully understood what Lopez was doing at the time, as per the outlet.
Walliser further pointed out that red carpet environments are often chaotic, with celebrities frequently unsure about what they are approaching. 'Sometimes they don't know what they're walking up to. It's just because it's so crazy,' he said, adding that such situations are common and not unique to Lopez.
Emphasising his broader experience, Walliser stated that he has never felt mistreated by any celebrity. 'I've never felt anybody was rude to me. I think people are at work. They're rushed. The world is crazy, and I never take it personally,' he said, according to People.
He also expressed gratitude to fans for their support and enthusiasm for the Glambot over the years.
Lopez attended the Golden Globes in a form-fitting archival Jean Louis Scherrer Haute Couture 2003 gown made with hundreds of yards of silk tulle. She accessorised the look with Sabyasachi jewellery, Christian Louboutin shoes and a Judith Leiber bag, completing her appearance with a glamorous updo and natural makeup, according to People.
The 'On the Floor' singer is currently performing her Up All Night concert series at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. (ANI)
