Here are five things to know about Pleasant:
1. Spending time in L.A.
Pleasant is currently coaching in Southern California with the Rams.
The longtime coach has spent two stints with the team, most recently from 2023 to the present where he serves as the Passing Game Coordinator and defensive backs coach. He has since added Assistant Head Coach to his title.
He started out with the team from 2017 to 2020 as their cornerbacks coach.
Pleasant helped the Rams rank 10th in points allowed and fifth in takeaways during the 2025 season.
2. Opportunity as HC
Pleasant has had a unique opportunity over the last couple of preseasons since joining the Rams.
He has had the chance to serve as acting head coach for two preseason games over the last two seasons, both against the Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
This has allowed Pleasant the chance to communicate with both sides of the ball and gain experience leading the team in a game setting.
3. NFL experience
Overall, Pleasant has filled his time with 11 years of NFL coaching experience.
Between both stints with the Rams, Pleasant had a pair of seasons as the Lions Passing Game Coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2021 and 2022.
He also spent some time with Washington and Cleveland when he was starting out in the NFL.
4. Getting started in Michigan
Despite being a Wisconsin alum, Pleasant's first coaching job at the college or pro level came at another Big Ten school.
He spent two seasons at the University of Michigan where he served as a defensive graduate assistant (2011) and the program's assistant defensive backs coach (2012).
Pleasant helped the Wolverines rank fifth in the FBS with an average of 169.5 passing yards allowed per game during his final season.
5. Former CFB recruit
As previously mentioned, Pleasant spent his college days as a student-athlete for the Badgers.
He was a defensive back for the University of Wisconsin for a number of years after coming in as a three-star recruit, playing in four consecutive bowl games during his collegiate career.
