The Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday agreed to terms with fullback Alec Ingold.
Here are five things to know about Ingold:
1. Joining the Bolts
The Chargers have added a veteran fullback with plenty of experience.
Ingold has played a total of seven seasons in the NFL, the most recent coming with the Dolphins.
He's played 107 games over his career and contributed on offense as well, tallying 667 total yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns.
2. Reunion in L.A.
Ingold is back with an offensive mind he knows very well.
Chargers Offensive Coordinator Mike McDaniel and the fullback are back reunited after the pair spent the last four seasons in Miami.
McDaniel brought Ingold to the Dolphins in his first season as head coach, where he played a total of 66 games for the team.
He helped Ingold earn Pro Bowl honors in 2023 after a strong campaign and career-high in yards for a season with 119.
In total, he tallied 406 yards from scrimmage to go along with three total touchdowns across his four years with McDaniel.
3. Time in AFC West
Ingold is no stranger to the Chargers division as the fullback began his NFL career in the AFC West as a member of the Raiders.
After signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2019, Ingold spent three seasons with the team and played in 41 games.
Ingold tallied 261 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns an added seven tackles and three fumble recoveries.
4. Walter Payton Man of Year Nominee
The fullback has spent his time in the NFL giving back to the community.
Ingold is a three-time Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee in his career, twice with the Dolphins and once with the Raiders.
Ingold has focused a lot of his work in advocacy and financial support of children in the child welfare system, among other things.
He also started the Ingold Family Foundation in 2022, where he has been able to establish programming to help youth achieve their dreams, providing education, inspiration, support and access to opportunity.
5. Former Badger
Ingold began his collegiate career at Wisconsin as a linebacker.
After making the switch to fullback in his freshman season, he thrived in the role and ended up playing a significant part in his four seasons.
He played in 51 games with 11 starts with the Badgers, carrying the ball 103 times for 343 yards and 17 TDs in addition to 14 receptions for 185 yards and four touchdowns.
