The Seahawks announced changes and additions to Mike Macdonalds coaching staff for the 2026 season.

While Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald was able to keep most of his Super Bowl winning coaching staff intact for 2026, there were several changes this offseason, most notably the hire of Brian Fleury as offensive coordinator.
Fleury replaces Klint Kubiak, who became the head coach in Las Vegas, and is one of several newcomers to this year's coaching staff, which the team announced this week.
Also new to this year's coaching staff are inside linebackers coach Zachary Orr, pass-game strategist Daniel Stern, and senior offensive assistant/running backs Thomas Hammock, all of whom previously worked with Macdonald in Baltimore, as well as offensive assistant Johnathan Williams, who most recently served as the offensive coordinator at South Carolina State.
In addition to those newcomers, there were several title changes, including Tyson Prince being promoted to quarterbacks coach to replace Andrew Janocko, who went with Kubiak to Las Vegas to be the Raiders offensive coordinator. Also adding the title of quarterbacks coach is offensive passing game coordinator Jake Peetz. Offensive line coach John Benton added the title senior offensive assistant, Josh Bynes was promoted to outside linebackers coach, with Chris Partridge, who held that title last season, moving to defensive run game coordinator. With Orr taking over as inside linebackers coach, Kirk Olivadotti moves to a new role of senior defensive assistant, while on the other side of the ball, Justin Outten goes from run game specialist and assistant offensive line coach to run game coordinator.
Orr and Macdonald are reuniting after spending significant portions of their respective careers together in Baltimore. Orr played three seasons with the Ravens as a linebacker from 2014-2016 before his career was cut short by a neck/spine condition, a stretch that was also the start of Macdonald's NFL career, first as a coaching intern before becoming a defensive assistant in 2015.
After Orr's career came to an unexpected end, he immediately got into coaching, serving as a defensive analyst for the Ravens from 2017-2020. After spending 2021 as the Jaguars outside linebackers coach, Orr returned to the Ravens in 2022 as the team's inside linebackers coach, with Macdonald serving as defensive coordinator. Orr was then promoted to defensive coordinator after Macdonald became the Seahawks' head coach.
Stern joins the Seahawks after 10 seasons with the Ravens, most recently serving as director of football strategy and assistant quarterbacks coach.
Per his biography on BaltimoreRavens.com, Stern's duties, in addition to assisting quarterbacks coach Tee Martin, included assisting with the playbook, call sheet, opponent analysis and self-scouting, as well as scripting situational periods of practice and advising on in-game clock/game management and coaches' challenges.
Stern, a 2016 graduate of Yale University, spent three seasons as an undergraduate assistant to the football team, assisting with coaches' video, opponent game breakdowns and football operations.
Hammock joins the Seahawks after seven seasons as the head coach at Northern Illinois, his alma mater. Prior to that, he spent five seasons with the Ravens as the running backs coach, working on the same coaching staff with Macdonald. He began his coaching career in the college ranks at Wisconsin as a graduate assistant following his playing career at Northern Illinois during which he rushed for 2,432 yards over 32 career games, including two 1,000-yard seasons.
Williams, who most recently was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at South Carolina State, previously held that same title at Benedict College(2024). Before that, Williams was the quarterbacks coach at Southern University (2022-23) and Prairie View A&M (2018-21), and has been the offensive coordinator at the HBCU Legacy Bowl. A former standout quarterback at Grambling State University, Williams was a two-time All-SWAC selection and was named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the FCS in touchdown passes in 2015.
