While the Las Vegas Raiders hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, their second-round pick could play a huge factor toward improving their roster.
The team holds the No. 36 overall selection, and there is a rich history of talented players drafted in that spot. In total, 23 Pro Bowlers have been selected at No. 36 along with 12 All-Pro selections. Five of the last 12 players to be drafted with the 36th overall pick have become Pro Bowlers, including S Budda Baker, LB Shaquille Leonard, WR Deebo Samuel, S Xavier McKinney and QB Derek Carr, who the Raiders drafted in 2014.
Last season, the Cleveland Browns selected running back Quinshon Judkins from Ohio State at 36. In his rookie campaign, Judkins rushed for 827 yards and seven touchdowns.
There've been two players drafted No. 36 overall who have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Ray Nitschke was selected with the pick in the third round of the 1958 NFL Draft, back when the league only featured 12 teams. The all-time great linebacker helped the Green Bay Packers to the first two Super Bowl victories in the game's history. Nitschke totaled 25 interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and 23 fumble recoveries in his 15-year career. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1978.
Kevin Mawae was drafted out of LSU in 1994, spending his 16-year NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans. He went 10 straight seasons without missing a game from 1995-2004, racked up eight Pro Bowl nods and three First-Team All-Pro selections, and was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team of the 2000s. He's a member of the Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
