Memphis led only in the game's opening minutes.
Milwaukee built a 19-point lead early in the second quarter, but couldn't maintain it. The Grizzlies closed the opening half on a 12-0 run to trim their deficit to 62-56. Rupert had surpassed his previous career high in the first half with 25 points.
Five Bucks were on the injury report, including Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis Jr. Antetokounmpo has been critical recently of the Bucks not allowing him to play. He is listed with a left knee injury but has said publicly he was available. Antetokounmpo missed his 11th straight game.
Six Grizzlies regulars -- GG Jackson (knee soreness), Cedric Coward (back soreness), Javon Small (left thigh contusion),Ty Jerome (left ankle sprain), Cam Spencer (low back soreness) and Jahmai Mashack (concussion protocol) -- did not play. The Grizzlies' revamped roster included four 10-day contract players and three two-way players.
