Strength, power among standout qualities
Mike Spofford
With Green Bay not owning a first-round pick in the upcoming draft, this year's Prospect Primer series will take a position-by-position look at players projected as Day 2 selections (Rounds 2-3) potentially available to the Packers, who have the No. 52 and 84 overall selections on the second day of the draft.
Here's a handful of interior defensive linemen:
Lee Hunter, Texas Tech
Ht/Wt:6-3, 318
News & notes:Alabama native took a redshirt year at Auburn before playing three years at UCF and then a final season at Texas Tech All told, played in 52 games with 37 starts, primarily as a nose tackle Improved from honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2023 to second team in '24 to first team in '25, which also included third-team AP All-America honors, making him the first Texas Tech interior D-lineman named All-America in over 40 years During those three seasons, compiled 155 tackles, including 31 TFLs and 7 sacks Last season, PFF credited him with 26 pressures in 523 defensive snaps and ranked him in the top 10 nationally for rush defense grade A classic two-gapping, hold-the-point nose who has limitations as a pass rusher, but highly regarded as a prospect and may not last until the middle of the second round.
Chris McClellan, Missouri
Ht/Wt:6-4, 313
News & notes:Oklahoma native began his college career with two years at Florida, starting just one game as a rotational player, and transferred to Missouri to become a two-year starter Steadily improved and broke out in 2025 with a career-high 48 tackles, including eight tackles for loss, six sacks and two passes defensed Put together a solid week at the Senior Bowl and then tested well at the combine (5.05-second 40, 25 bench press reps at 225 pounds) Has ideal frame and size but scouting reports say needs to play with lower center of gravity and better pad level Mostly a power rusher who likely will be available on Day 3.
Dontay Corleone, Cincinnati
Ht/Wt:6-0, 340
News & notes:Cincinnati native stayed at home for the entirety of his college career and developed hometown hero status as well as the nickname "The Godfather" Redshirted in 2021 before playing four seasons and 44 games in all Had a health scare prior to the 2024 season when diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, but recovered successfully and continued his career Missed a couple of games early in 2025 due to an ankle injury that limited his effectiveness the rest of the season Posted at least three sacks and five TFLs each year from 2022-24 before getting blanked in those categories last season Named third-team AP All-America in '22, then second-team All-Big 12 in '23 and first-team conference honors in '24 Stout, run-stuffing nose tackle who reportedly has bench-pressed 485 pounds and squatted 615 Seen as a potential value pick if available on Day 3.
Gracen Halton, Oklahoma
Ht/Wt:6-3, 293
News & notes:California native originally committed to Oregon before switching to Oklahoma and playing four years there Was a rotational player for two years and then a part-time starter his last two, playing in 47 games total and finishing his career as a team captain and second-team All-SEC selection in 2025 Over the last two seasons, racked up 63 tackles, including 13 TFLs and 8 sacks A bit undersized but an impressive athlete (4.82-second 40, 36-inch vertical, 9-6 broad jump at combine) with interior pass-rush skills Among DTs participating at the combine, vertical jump ranked first, broad jump second and 40 time third Athletic numbers may have boosted his stock from a Day 3 to Day 2 pick.
