Taicang has become an important hub for German enterprises developing in China, said Gudrun Weidmann, senior official of the Bavarian economic ministry. He spoke highly of Taicang's achievements in smart manufacturing, industrial innovation, talent cultivation and green transition.
BERLIN, April 18 (Xinhua) -- China and Germany could step up communication and promote each other's investment and innovative cooperation against the backdrop of increasing international uncertainty, said participants of the 18th German "Taicang Day" event recently.
Taicang is a city in the Jiangsu province, eastern China. "Taicang Day" has become an important platform for China and Germany to promote economic and cultural exchanges since 2008. This year's event, which was held in Munich on Thursday, has attracted about 300 entrepreneurs, experts and business leaders.
Taicang has become an important hub for German enterprises developing in China, said Gudrun Weidmann, senior official of the Bavarian economic ministry.
Weidmann spoke highly of Taicang's achievements in smart manufacturing, industrial innovation, talent cultivation and green transition, noting that a stable, reliable and fair cooperation environment will help boost the confidence of enterprises under current international scenario.
Zhai Qian, minister of economic and commercial affairs at the Chinese Embassy in Germany, said that the healthy and stable development of Sino-German relations and the continuous deepening of pragmatic economic and trade cooperation will inject momentum into global economic development.
Chen Xiaodong, deputy head of Jiangsu's provincial department of commerce, stated that platforms such as the Sino-German (Taicang) industrial cooperation demonstration zone have provided efficient channels for enterprises to promote mutual cooperation.
He added that Jiangsu has great potential in stepping up the Sino-German cooperation.
German enterprises have not only set up production bases in Taicang but also carried out cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields such as local supply chains, joint research and development, and vocational education, said Michaela Schenk, head of the foreign trade committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria.
