T1 and the ZETA DIVISION each swept their respective quarterfinal matchups on Saturday and advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs at the Overwatch Champions Series Midseason Championship in Paris.
Also moving on to the semifinals were Twisted Minds and Weibo Gaming.
The $1 million tournament is part of the Esports World Cup.
The 16-team event began with a double-elimination group stage. All group-stage matches were best-of-three, and the top four teams from both groups made the single-elimination playoffs.
Playoff matches will be best-of-five until the grand final on Sunday, which will be best-of-seven.
The championship team will earn $400,000 and 1,000 Esports World Cup club points.
On Saturday, T1 downed Crazy Raccoon in the quarterfinals, prevailing 2-0 on Nepal Control, 3-2 on Neon Junction Hybrid and 3-2 on Suravasa Flashpoint. ZETA DIVISION defeated Dallas Fuel 2-0 on Nepal Control, 2-1 on Neon Junction Hybrid and 3-1 on Suravasa Flashpoint.
In the other pair of quarterfinals, Weibo Gaming overcame an opening 2-0 loss to Spacestation Gaming on Nepal Control with a 3-2 win on Neon Junction Hybrid, a 2-1 victory on Shambali Monastery Escort and claimed the match with a 3-1 triumph on Suravasa Flashpoint. Twisted Minds was victorious 2-0 on Nepal Control and 1-0 on Neon Junction Hybrid before Geekay Esports bounced back with a 3-1 win on New Junk City Flashpoint, but Twisted Minds advanced to the semis with a 4-3 finish on Route 66 Escort.
