CF Montreal scored twice in the second half to rally for a 2-2 draw against the visiting New England Revolution on Saturday.

It marked the first goals for Montreal (4-10-4, 16 points) since resuming action after the World Cup, having been shut out in three straight matches.

The Revolution (9-5-3, 30 points) remained winless in six of their seven road matches this season (1-4-2).

New England controlled the play early in the first half, with nearly 82% of the touches through the first 12 minutes.

Carles Gil, in his 200th career MLS regular-season start, converted on a penalty kick in the 30th minute to give the Revolution a 1-0 lead. The veteran midfielder took a short flutter toward the ball before roofing it past goalkeeper Sebastian Breza.

New England was awarded the penalty after the ball hit the arm of Montreal defender Efrain Morales in the box.

The hosts showed some signs of life just before Gil connected, but the visitors were sparked by the strike, and Dor Turgeman doubled the advantage for New England six minutes later.

Gil put a short feed forward down low for Peyton Miller, who collected it and quickly sent a cross for Turgeman coming through an open space between the Montreal defense for a tap-in from in front to make it 2-0 in the 36th minute.

Montreal came out with more fire and pressure to start the second half and it paid off.

Just minutes after a misplay by Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner nearly saw the ball roll into his net, Montreal cut the deficit in half. Brayan Vera fired a bullet of a strike off his left foot from more than 40 yards outside the box that rocketed past Turner high to make it 2-1 in the 52nd minute.

Prince Owusu pulled the Canadian side level 2-2 in the 59th minute. Luca Petrasso delivered a long feed from near the touchline on the left side into the box, and Owusu got in between a pair of New England defenders to head it into the low right corner for his 10th goal of the season.

New England finished with 22 shots, five on target, while Montreal recorded 16 shots, eight on net. The Revolution's Turner made six saves, and Breza made three.
