The Seattle Mariners released veteran outfielder Rob Refsnyder and catcher Mitch Garver on Tuesday after adding players at the trade deadline.
The Mariners recalled catcher Jhonny Pereda from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. They also activated outfielder Taylor Ward, who came over from Baltimore on Monday, and right-handed reliever Seranthony Dominguez, who was dealt from the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.
Seattle also activated third baseman Brendan Donovan (left groin strain) from the 10-day injured list.
Refsnyder, 35, batted .140 (16-for-114) with four home runs and 11 RBIs in 53 games this season, his first with Seattle after signing as a free agent in December.
For his career, Refsnyder is a .246 hitter with 37 homers and 165 RBIs in 594 regular-season games with seven different teams since 2015.
Garver, 35, batted .175 (22-for-126) with four homers and 15 RBIs in 50 games this season, his third with the Mariners.
A Silver Slugger Award winner for American League catchers in 2019, Garver is a career .229 hitter with 110 homers and 324 RBIs with the Minnesota Twins (2017-21), Texas Rangers (2022-23) and Mariners (2024-26).
He won the World Series with the Rangers in 2023.
Pereda, 30, is hitting .270 (17-for-63) with two homers and four RBIs in 19 games this season with Seattle. He is a career .251 hitter with two homers and 12 RBIs in 67 games over parts of three seasons with the Miami Marlins (2024), Athletics (2025), Twins (2025) and Mariners.
