OpTic Gaming and 100 Thieves swept their way into the Call of Duty semifinals while Team Heretics and Team Falcons had to squeak their way in on Saturday at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris.
OpTic Gaming defeated FaZe Clan 4-0 in their best-of-7 quarterfinal while 100 Thieves knocked out Movistar KOI by the same count at the $1.8 million tournament. The two winners will meet in Sunday's second semifinal.
Team Falcons had to rally from a 3-2 deficit against Gentle Mates to advance. Team Falcons claimed a 2-1 victory on the Den map to even the series before claiming the victory with a 6-3 triumph on Den.
Team Heretics, meanwhile, nearly squandered a 3-1 advantage against G2 Esports. After falling 6-4 and 5-3 on Gridlock to force their matchup to the limit, Team Heretics prevailed with a 6-4 win on Sake to advance to Sunday's semifinal matchup against Team Falcons.
Both semifinals will be best-of-7 affairs, then the winners will engage in the best-of-9 Grand Final that promises $600,000 and 1,000 World Cup points for the winner.
The weeklong tournament concludes on Sunday with these matchups:
