New Delhi [India], August 13: Moroccan actress and entrepreneur Soundous Moufakir is taking her connection with Morocco beyond the screen with Moromaa, a beauty brand built around authentic Moroccan ingredients and centuries-old beauty rituals.

Born and raised in Morocco, Soundous began her professional journey in finance in Paris before moving to Mumbai and entering the entertainment industry. Her journey across these different worlds eventually inspired Moromaa a brand that brings a piece of her Moroccan heritage to India.

While K-Beauty, J-Beauty and other international beauty trends have found a strong audience in India, Soundous saw an opportunity to introduce consumers to traditional Moroccan beauty rituals and ingredients that remain relatively unexplored in the country.

At the heart of Moromaa are ingredients such as Moroccan Nila, Argan Oil, Olive Oil, Ghassoul clay and traditional Moroccan botanicals, carefully sourced to retain their authenticity and connection to their origins.

But Moromaa is about more than skincare. The brand encourages consumers to look at beauty as a ritual rather than simply a routine, drawing inspiration from Moroccan self-care traditions that have been passed down through generations.

Unlike a traditional celebrity endorsement, Soundous is building Moromaa as its CEO and solo founder. She has been closely involved across product development, ingredient sourcing, branding, packaging, fundraising and the long-term vision of the company.

Her background in finance, followed by her career in entertainment, has given her a distinctive perspective as she builds the business from the ground up.

For Soundous, Moromaa also represents a bridge between two cultures she calls home. The vision is to make authentic Moroccan beauty more accessible to Indian consumers while eventually expanding the brand across skincare, haircare and body care.

As Indian consumers increasingly explore beauty traditions from around the world, Moromaa hopes to put Moroccan beauty on that map introducing a new generation to ingredients, rituals and traditions that Soundous herself grew up with.
