Serena Williams apparently isn't putting too much stock into her comeback to the tennis court.
'(It's) nothing long-term. It's more or less having a lot of fun,' Williams said at the 14th annual Forbes Power Women's Summit on Thursday in New York. The 23-time Grand Slam singles winner said she also is intent on showing her daughters, who are 9 and 3, that they can do it all.
'I think we (as women) are expected to wear several hats and not complain about it, and I feel like owning that message and owning that moment, and then I have two girls, and showing my girls that they can do that too,' Williams told Moira Forbes, the executive vice president at Forbes.
Williams, 44, returned to the tennis court following an absence of nearly four years in June 2026 when she accepted a wild-card invitation to play doubles in the HSBC Championships, a 500-level event held in London.
