MILWAUKEE -- Brewers left fielder Jackson Chourio was removed in the second inning after legging out an infield single that put Milwaukee up 9-1 over the visiting Chicago Cubs on Saturday in the first game of the National League Division Series.
Chourio, who missed almost all of August with a strained right hamstring, was removed for a pinch-runner after being examined by training staff. He sustained right hamstring tightness and will be further evaluated Saturday, the Brewers announced.
Chourio doubled to open a six-run first inning as the Brewers erased a 1-0 deficit. He capped the inning with a two-run single as the Brewers batted around.
Milwaukee added three runs in the second, capped by Chourio's third hit of the game.
Isaac Collins replaced Chourio on the bases and in left field.
The 21-year-old Chourio hit .270 with 21 homers and 78 RBIs in his second season in the majors. He hit .275 with 21 homers and 79 RBIs last season as a rookie.
Counting last season, Chourio is 8-for-14 (.571) with two homers and six RBIs in four career playoff games.
