The Steelers made multiple roster moves today, including signing receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. In a related move the team released receiver Ke'Shawn Williams.
In addition, the team elevated offensive lineman Jack Driscoll and defensive end DeMarvin Leal to the Active/Inactive Roster for Monday night's game against the Miami Dolphins at Acrisure Stadium. They will both revert back to the practice squad following the game.
Valdes-Scantling, who was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 4 and was also elevated for the Week 14 game against the Ravens, was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the 174th overall selection.
Valdes-Scantling was most recently with the San Francisco 49ers, signing with their practice squad prior to the start of the 2025 season. He appeared in five games for the 49ers, with four receptions for 40 yards. He was eventually placed on the Reserve/Injured List.
In eight seasons he has appeared in 112 games with the Packers (2018-21), Kansas City Chiefs (2022-23), Buffalo Bills (2024), New Orleans Saints (2024), San Francisco 49ers (2025) and Steelers (2025). He has 209 receptions for 3,606 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also has 10 carries for 52 yards.
Valdes-Scantling has appeared in 11 postseason games, starting seven, with 24 receptions for 406 yards and four touchdowns.
He began his college career at North Carolina State, before transferring to South Florida for two seasons.
Driscoll, who was signed to the Steelers practice squad on Oct. 29, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
He spent five seasons with the Eagles, appearing in 67 games, starting 18.
Driscoll played college football at Auburn, where he appeared in 25 games over two seasons. Prior to his time at Auburn, he spent two seasons at Massachusetts where he appeared in 22 games.
Leal, who was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 8 after spending the first half of the season on the 53-man roster, was drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
In four seasons, he appeared in 31 games, starting six of them. Leal appeared in three games in 2025 and five games in 2024, but missed the majority of the season dealing with injuries.
Leal appeared in 12 games in 2023, starting four, and recorded 15 tackles, five of them solo stops, two quarterback hits, two tackles for a loss and a sack. His rookie season in 2022 he appeared in 11 games, with two started. He registered 14 tackles, eight of them solo stops, three passes defensed and a tackle for a loss.
