Brandon Williams connected on the go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute and scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half to help the Dallas Mavericks post a 100-98 road victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.
Cooper Flagg had 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Mavericks halted a seven-game road losing streak. Anthony Davis added 19 points and 16 rebounds as Dallas notched its second straight win.
Naji Marshall recorded 15 points and seven rebounds, Max Christie had 11 points and Daniel Gafford added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Mavericks, who never led by more than two points.
DeMar DeRozan scored 21 points for Sacramento but his 29-foot 3-pointer just before the buzzer bounced off the back rim. The loss was the sixth in a row for the Kings.
Zach LaVine scored 20 points and Maxime Raynaud added 14 points and nine boards before fouling out. Dennis Schroder had 11 points and nine assists and Russell Westbrook also scored 11 points for the Kings.
Sacramento learned earlier Tuesday that sharpshooter Keegan Murray (ankle) will be sidelined at least three to four weeks. He was injured in Sunday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Kings took a 98-97 lead on DeRozan's 17-foot jumper with 40.4 seconds remaining.
But Williams received a pass from Flagg and was unguarded as he knocked down the big trey with 33.3 seconds to play.
Dallas made 40.6% of its shots and was 8 of 27 from behind the arc.
The Kings shot 42.4% from the field, including 9 of 31 from 3-point range.
The Mavericks took their first lead since the middle of the first quarter when Marshall scored on a fastbreak layup for an 88-87 lead with 4:19 left.
A short time later, Marshall hit a 3-pointer and Williams hit a pull-up jumper to give Dallas a 95-93 edge.
DeRozan nailed a trey to give the Kings a one-point edge with 1:13 left. Flagg answered with a short jumper to give Dallas a 97-96 lead with 54.7 seconds left.
Schroder's layup with 15 seconds left in the third quarter allowed the Kings to take a 78-76 lead into the final stanza.
LaVine and Westbrook scored 11 points apiece as Sacramento led 58-46 at the break. Davis had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Dallas.
