The Green Bay Packers signed head coach Matt LaFleur, general manager Brian Gutekunst and Russ Ball, the director of football operations, to multi-year contract extensions, the team announced Friday.
No contract lengths or financial terms were released.
'We are excited to extend our commitment to Brian, Matt and Russ as the leaders of our football operations. Their steadfast dedication, passion and collaboration have remained constant in our drive to compete at the highest level,' said Ed Policy, Green Bay's president and CEO.
'While we are all disappointed with the way this season ended, we remain aligned in purpose and have spent considerable time over the past weeks collaborating on a path forward. I am exceedingly confident we have the right people to achieve our goal. The entire Packers organization looks forward to supporting every effort to bring our community and fans another championship that they very much deserve.'
The Packers finished the 2025 season with a 9-7-1 record and were knocked out in the wild-card round of the playoffs with a 31-27 loss to the Chicago Bears on Jan. 10.
LaFleur, 46, was hired by the Packers on Jan. 8, 2019, and has a 76-40-1 (.654) record. He is tied with Pro Football Hall of Fame member Paul Brown for No. 2 in NFL history for the most wins by a head coach in his first seven NFL seasons.
Gutekunst, 52, was promoted to general manager on Jan. 8, 2018, and he has spent 27 seasons with the organization. The Packers have made six playoff appearances in the past seven seasons, trailing only the Buffalo Bills and their seven trips to the postseason. The Kansas City Royals and Philadelphia Eagles also have six appearances in that span. Green Bay became the first team in NFL history to win 13 games in three consecutive seasons (2019-21).
Ball is entering his 38th season in the NFL and his 19th in Green Bay. After gaining experience with four NFL teams, he joined the Packers in 2008 as vice president of football administration/player finance. His current title is executive vice president/director of football operations.
