Agartala (Tripura) [India], July 9 (ANI): Tripura is set to host its flagship investment summit, Destination Tripura: Business Conclave 2026, on July 9-10 at the International Fair Ground, Hapania, Agartala, with the state aiming to position itself as a preferred investment destination in Northeast India.
The two-day conclave will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal will address the inaugural session virtually, while Union Minister for Development of the North Eastern Region and Communications Jyotiraditya M Scindia will attend as a distinguished guest. Tripura Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, other members of the State Cabinet, Chairpersons of State PSUs, senior Government of India officials, ambassadors, industry leaders and investors from India and abroad will also participate.
Senior Government of India representatives expected at the conclave include Keshav Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, and Dr V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance.
The conclave has attracted international interest, with representatives from the embassies and high commissions of Bangladesh, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, Lao PDR, Kazakhstan, Chile, Nepal, Uzbekistan and South Africa confirming participation.
Ahead of the event, the Tripura Government conducted investor roadshows in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Guwahati, generating 189 investment intents worth approximately Rs 6,457 crore. The Delhi roadshow received 33 investment intents valued at Rs 1,520 crore, Hyderabad secured 56 intents worth Rs 2,190.5 crore, Bengaluru attracted 42 intents worth Rs 1,424 crore, while Guwahati generated 58 intents valued at Rs 1,322.7 crore.
Officials said nearly 1,500 investors have been contacted and invited to the conclave. Invitations have also been extended to 113 embassies, high commissions and consulates, along with leading international trade and investment promotion organisations, including the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
More than 300 investors and business organisations have already confirmed participation. The state government has also sourced preliminary investment proposals and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) exceeding Rs 70,000 crore ahead of the conclave, with several additional proposals currently under advanced discussions.
Major companies and organisations expected to participate include Lulu Group International, Ambuja Neotia, Nutricircle Ltd., Neelkantha Infra Power Limited, NDR Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., Jain International Trade Organization (ITO), Jindal Group, TotalStart Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Developers, CSRD Enterprise LED, JK Urbana Garden Pvt. Ltd., Veritas Design Studio Pvt. Ltd., Salesforce, NE Digital Infrastructure, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), CTRL-S and MACLEC.
The conclave will showcase investment opportunities across key sectors such as tourism, healthcare, education, IT and ITeS, renewable energy, food processing, rubber, agar, bamboo, agarwood and other emerging sunrise industries.
On the first day, the programme will feature the inaugural session, sector-specific investment sessions, networking with entrepreneurs and industry leaders, presentations on state policies and incentives, and the exchange of MoUs.
The second day will focus on Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings, discussions on deregulation, compliance reduction, economic and business reforms, along with additional MoU exchanges. Exhibition stalls highlighting Tripura's investment ecosystem, industrial policies and business opportunities will remain open throughout the event.
The state government expects the conclave to strengthen investor confidence, facilitate strategic partnerships and accelerate industrial growth, employment generation and economic development across Tripura. (ANI)
