The Milwaukee Brewers added to their bullpen wealth shortly before the trade deadline on Monday by acquiring right-hander Antonio Senzatela from the Colorado Rockies, according to reports.
Colorado received Triple-A left-handed reliever Mark Manfredi and 19-year-old infielder Juan Martinez from Milwaukee.
The Rockies shifted Senzatela, 31, to the bullpen this year after he spent most of his first nine seasons in the rotation. He responded by producing a 9-2 record and a 3.61 ERA with three saves in 34 appearances.
Senzatela has fared better away from Coors Field this season. He posted a 2.57 ERA in 28 innings on the road versus a 4.81 ERA in 24 1/3 innings at home, which does not match his career splits.
Since making his big-league debut in 2017, Senzatela has posted a 5.27 ERA in 405 innings on the road compared to a 4.93 ERA in 469 1/3 innings at Coors Field.
Manfredi, 26, has compiled a 4-2 record with a 3.35 ERA and five saves this season between Triple-A Nashville and Double-A Biloxi. Martinez recently moved from Rookie ball to Class-A Wilson, where he posted a .209 average, one homer and six steals in 18 games.
The Rockies continued to sell at the deadline when they dealt right-handed reliever Victor Vodnik to the Miami Marlins for infielder Connor Norby and right-hander Aiden May, ESPN reported.
Vodnik, 26, has pitched in 155 games across four seasons out of the Rockies' bullpen and amassed a 13-10 record, a 4.31 ERA and 23 saves. In 33 appearances this season, he is 3-3 with four saves and a 5.25 ERA.
Norby, 26, is batting .205 with four homers and 16 RBIs in 65 games this season. For his career with the Baltimore Orioles (2024) and Marlins (2024-26), Norby has batted .234 with 21 homers and 70 RBIs in 198 appearances.
May, 23, is a prospect currently at High-A Beloit, where he has gone 4-3 with a 3.80 ERA over 14 starts.
