U.S. captain Angela Stanford filled out her Solheim Cup team with Rose Zhang, Lindy Duncan and Megan Khang as her captain's picks Monday.
Stanford's selections came one day after the qualifying period for the U.S. team closed, when Andrea Lee and Alison Lee earned spots on the team via their standing in the women's world rankings.
Though just 23, Zhang is set to play in her third straight Solheim Cup. She has not won an LPGA tournament since May 2024 and was 13th in the qualifying points standings, but she has excelled at match play.
Zhang, who has played team golf dating to her decorated junior and amateur days, went 4-0-0 at the 2024 Solheim Cup to help the United States defeat Europe 15 1/2-12 1/2 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va.
It will be Khang's fifth Solheim Cup appearance and Duncan's first.
Duncan was in line for an auto-qualifying spot until she slipped behind Alison Lee in the world rankings earlier this month. At 35, she'll be the event's oldest first-timer since 39-year-old Nancy Scranton in 2000.
Seven players qualified via the U.S. Solheim Cup points standings: Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Yealimi Noh, Auston Kim, Lauren Coughlin and Allisen Corpuz. Of that group, only Kim is a Solheim Cup rookie.
The international competition will be played Sept. 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.
'I'm so proud and excited for this group,' Stanford said in a statement. 'Now, we are ready to get to the Netherlands and represent the Red, White & Blue.'
