The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to tarnish the final game of longtime San Francisco Giants broadcaster Mike Krukow's career with a 100th regular-season win when the California rivals wrap up the regular season on Sunday afternoon.

The finale in San Francisco will send the Dodgers (99-62) on their quest for a third consecutive World Series championship and Krukow into retirement after 36 years of calling Giants games.

Also a pitcher for the Giants for the final seven of his 14 seasons in the majors, Krukow, 74, will be honored after Sunday's game, in which the home team will seek to end a four-game losing streak overall and a seven-game skid against the Dodgers.

'I'm going to tell them just how much they mean to me and my family,' Krukow promised this week about his farewell speech. 'I don't know if you can convey it in words, but it'll be conveyed in emotion. That I can guarantee.'

Krukow was in the booth when San Francisco won three World Series titles in five seasons from 2010-14, but the team has been to the postseason just twice since then (2016, 2021), losing both times in the National League Division Series. This season, the Giants (65-96) will finish with their fewest wins in a full season since going 64-98 in 2017.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers will wind up with more wins than the 98 they had in 2024 and 93 last season, regular seasons followed by World Series victories. This will be their 14th consecutive appearance in the postseason; they also won the World Series in the pandemic-shortened season in 2020.

With a first-round bye to start their three-peat effort as a result of having the second-best record in the National League, the Dodgers will need 11 wins to achieve a first in Major League Baseball since the Yankees captured the World Series in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

Los Angeles saw a lot go right in its first two games in San Francisco -- both victories -- as they got home runs from Teoscar Hernandez, Andy Pages, Enrique Hernandez and Mookie Betts, sharp starting pitching from Tarik Skubal and Blake Snell, and stellar game-closing from Tanner Scott.

The Dodgers will take the field Sunday with postseason roster spots still up for grabs and pitchers needing one more outing before a five-day break leading into a best-of-five NLDS, which will open in Los Angeles on Saturday.

'We want to finish playing good baseball,' Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters. 'Our guys still got to get ready because we've got a week of not playing baseball. So (the goal is) just to finish strong, finish the season out.'

One unresolved issue for Los Angeles in the postseason is who will bat leadoff.

Shohei Ohtani, who manned the spot almost exclusively while healthy earlier in the season, led off Friday's 2-0 win over the Giants, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.

Roberts moved Betts into the top spot for Saturday's 4-3 victory, and while Betts went just 1-for-5 with a strikeout, his hit was his 23rd home run of the season.

Ohtani, who singled and struck out twice while slotted second on Saturday, has gone just 4-for-18 with just one extra-base hit, a double, since returning from a 16-day absence due to discomfort in his right biceps.

While the Dodgers have not announced a starting pitcher for Sunday's game, the Giants will send right-hander Carson Seymour (0-2, 4.70 ERA) to the mound as an opener. He will make his first start after 24 relief appearances this season.

Seymour does not have a decision in five career outings against the Dodgers. He has a 3.60 ERA, allowing two runs in five innings. He pitched the sixth inning on Saturday, striking out one.
