SAN FRANCISCO, California: Artificial intelligence startup Together AI has raised US$800 million in a Series C funding round, more than doubling its valuation to $8.3 billion as it looks to expand its AI infrastructure and software offerings.
The funding round, announced on July 1, was led by Aramco Ventures and included participation from Vista Equity Partners, General Catalyst, Emergence Capital, Nvidia, Salesforce Ventures, March Capital, Pegatron and SentinelOne's S Ventures.
Founded in 2022, Together AI operates a platform that enables companies to train and run AI workloads using open-source models such as DeepSeek, MiniMax and Kimi at lower costs than closed systems.
The company said it will use the new funding to expand its inference capabilities, the process of running trained AI models, as it broadens its range of AI services.
"The future of AI won't be owned by a few companies. It will be built by millions of developers and businesses, and open-source models are making that possible," Together AI CEO Vipul Ved Prakash said.
The latest funding marks another sharp increase in the company's valuation. Together AI was valued at $3.3 billion in a funding round led by General Catalyst in February 2025, more than double its previous valuation of $1.25 billion in March 2024.
The startup also said its annual bookings exceeded $1.15 billion last quarter, driven by growing demand for open-source AI models. Its customer base includes companies such as Cursor, Cognition and Decagon.
Looking ahead, Together AI said it expects to expand its computing capacity and infrastructure by roughly 50 times over the next five years as demand for AI services continues to grow.
