DHAKA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- China's institutional advantages, rooted in the centralized and unified leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), have helped transform the country's long-term blueprints into concrete national achievements, offering a viable alternative model for Global South countries seeking accelerated modernization, a Bangladeshi expert has said.

Nasim Mahmmud, executive director of the Center for East Asia Foundation, told Xinhua in a recent interview that the system has provided the essential framework for the successful implementation of China's Five-Year Plans, ensuring strategic stability, efficient resource mobilization and coordinated execution across all levels of governance.

As the CPC marked its 105th founding anniversary, Mahmmud said the party has been tested over time, accumulating rich experience, and is capable of leading the Chinese people through difficulties and toward success.

The CPC's achievements over the past 105 years have been widely recognized by the international community and deeply appreciated by mainstream society in Bangladesh, he said.

"The CPC will continue to combine the interests of the Chinese people with the common interests of the people of other countries and always stands for fairness and justice," he said, adding that China's development is an opportunity, not a challenge, for the world.

Mahmmud said that since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, during which the CPC has led China in achieving remarkable development.

Among China's major achievements, he cited the historic eradication of absolute poverty, the transition to high-quality development driven by technological innovation, and the proposal of major international initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative.

The key experience for developing countries, including Bangladesh, are that development requires strong governance, policy consistency and a people-centered approach, he said.

China has combined national planning with market mechanisms, helping the country strike a better balance between efficiency and equity, he added.

Mahmmud said Chinese modernization has distinctive value, as it breaks the notion that modernization must follow a Western path and offers important choices for Global South countries seeking to reduce poverty rapidly, build infrastructure and explore development paths suited to their own national conditions.

China's rise has been peaceful, he said, noting that China does not seek dominance but advocates mutual development and an international order based on dialogue, equal consultation and rejection of zero-sum games.

"How do we harness our demographic dividend, accelerate inclusive growth and build future-ready systems in a rapidly changing world? This is a question Bangladesh must ask as it enters a new phase of development," Mahmmud said. "A compelling answer lies in the story of China."

Recalling his recent visit to China, Mahmmud said he was impressed by a university in Guangzhou, the capital of south China's Guangdong Province, where innovation, experimentation and industrial needs had been integrated into the education system.

"It is a model that blends theory with practice, one that Bangladesh must work toward," he said, adding that Bangladesh can also learn from China's experience in targeted poverty alleviation, infrastructure development, industrial growth and technical education to better address its urgent needs for job creation and poverty reduction.

Under the pragmatic and visionary leadership of the CPC, China has deepened cooperation with Global South countries through the Belt and Road Initiative and other global initiatives, while promoting regional economic integration, Mahmmud said.

"What impresses me most is that China has presented a Chinese type of governance to the whole world and has played an increasingly important and responsible role in global governance," he said.

China advocates multilateralism and equal sovereignty among nations and promotes the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, he said, adding that China's practice offers Global South countries another option for governance and modernization.

"China's success under the leadership of the CPC can provide inspiring experience for other countries to pursue their own development and promote world peace," Mahmmud said. "I believe this has become a broad consensus among Global South countries."
