New Delhi [India], August 22: Zeon Lifesciences has successfully cleared inspections by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) for its manufacturing facility under the FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act), marking a significant regulatory milestone in the company's strategy to expand its international presence and strengthen its capabilities as a globally competitive nutraceutical and health supplements manufacturing partner.
This follows the company's earlier U.S. FDA facility registration and builds on Zeon's continued investment in robust manufacturing systems, regulatory compliance, and quality processes. For facilities manufacturing, processing, packing or holding food, including dietary supplements, for consumption in the United States, FDA registration and compliance form part of the regulatory framework governing access to the U.S. market.
The milestone follows Zeon's broader efforts to align its manufacturing operations with internationally recognised standards. The company has also secured NSF certification against the requirements of 21 CFR Part 111, the U.S. FDA's current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations for dietary supplements, further strengthening its quality and compliance credentials.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Suresh Garg, Founder and Managing Director, Zeon Lifesciences, said, 'This is an important step in our journey towards building a truly global nutraceutical manufacturing business. Our objective is not simply to enter international markets, but to build the manufacturing capabilities, quality systems and regulatory preparedness required to serve them responsibly. This milestone strengthens our readiness to engage with international customers and supports our long-term vision of positioning Zeon as a trusted manufacturing partner for global nutraceutical brands.'
This is expected to strengthen Zeon's ability to engage with international brands, distributors and contract manufacturing customers seeking manufacturing partners that understand and operate within U.S. regulatory requirements. It also supports the company's broader export strategy, while individual products and shipments remain subject to applicable product-specific regulatory, labelling and import requirements in the destination market.
As part of its export-readiness programme, Zeon is strengthening processes related to U.S.-compliant packaging and artwork, finished-product testing and analysis, documentation and quality systems. These measures are intended to support the company's ability to develop and manufacture products for regulated international markets while maintaining consistent quality across its operations.
This forms part of Zeon's longer-term strategy to build a globally competitive manufacturing platform across its nutraceutical portfolio. The company sees growing opportunities to work with international brands and partners seeking reliable Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) capabilities from India, while continuing to expand its manufacturing and product-development capabilities.
For Zeon, the milestone represents more than a regulatory requirement. It is part of a wider growth strategy centred on strengthening compliance, investing in manufacturing infrastructure and quality systems, and creating the foundation for sustained expansion into international markets.
