Los Angeles [US], August 23 (ANI): Bunny Levine, the actress who began her acting career after retiring from her job as a school librarian, has died at the age of 97, according to multiple reports, Deadline said.
Levine, who appeared in popular shows including 'Gilmore Girls' and 'Shameless,' also worked in films such as Adam Sandler's 'Don't Mess With the Zohan' and 'Sandy Wexler.'
Born with a love for performing, Levine graduated from college in 1951 and went on to work as a school librarian in New Jersey. She later took early retirement and decided to pursue acting full-time, a dream she had carried since childhood, according to Deadline.
Levine, who was 4 feet 10 inches tall, went on to work steadily in television for several decades. She mostly appeared in single-episode roles, often playing characters such as an 'Old Lady,' 'Kindly Older Woman' or 'Grandma.'
Her television credits included As the World Turns, Law & Order, Chappelle's Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, Las Vegas, Private Practice, Ugly Betty, Community, Criminal Minds, 2 Broke Girls, The Mindy Project, Fuller House and Mayans M.C.
Levine also appeared on the big screen. One of her early film roles came in the 1990 movie Cadillac Man, which starred Robin Williams and Tim Robbins.
She later appeared alongside Adam Sandler in Don't Mess With the Zohan, where she played an 'Older lady in the salon.' She also had an uncredited role as the main character's grandmother in Sandy Wexler.
Among her other film credits were La La Land, in which she played a movie theater cashier, Let Go, where she played Mrs. Grossman, and the 2024 film Thelma, in which she appeared as Mona opposite June Squibb. (ANI)
