Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], August 24 (ANI): The National Stock Exchange (NSE), along with Divyaj Foundation, has launched a financial literacy initiative in Nagpur aimed at reaching more than 1,000 women, starting with around 300 Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers.

The initiative is part of the collaboration between NSE and Divyaj Foundation for conducting financial literacy workshops focused on helping women make informed financial decisions.

In a post on social media platform X, NSE said its Vice President Joginder Singh highlighted the initiative in Nagpur to 'take financial literacy to 1,000+ women,' with the programme beginning with '300 Asha (Accredited Social Health Activist) Worker women participating in this workshop.'

The workshop was held on August 19 and was inaugurated in the presence of Divyaj Foundation founder Amruta Fadnavis, along with officials and representatives from NSE and other organisations.

According to NSE's post, Fadnavis emphasised the role of financial literacy in women's empowerment and highlighted how 'even small savings, when invested wisely and diversified across asset classes, can contribute meaningfully to the financial well-being of women and their families.'

The programme included a financial literacy and investor awareness session aimed at improving participants' understanding of savings and investments. A separate session on health and well-being was also conducted.

The Nagpur programme builds on an existing collaboration between NSE and Divyaj Foundation. NSE said it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the foundation in 2025 'to collaborate on financial literacy workshops aimed at empowering women in the workforce and communities with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions.'

The latest programme expands the initiative to ASHA workers, who work at the grassroots level and serve as a link between communities and the public healthcare system.

NSE said Singh also appreciated the work being undertaken by Divyaj Foundation as the two organisations expand their financial literacy initiative in Nagpur. (ANI)
