Panaji (Goa) [India], August 24 (ANI): The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), along with other securities market participants, continue to promote financial literacy, investor education, and investor protection across the country. The collaborative effort seeks to empower citizens with market knowledge and encourage informed, responsible, and secure participation in the securities market, according to information sourced from the NSE.
As part of this outreach, the SEBI Investor Awareness Pavilion was established at the 25th Goa International Trade Fair 2026, held from August 23 to August 25, 2026. The joint pavilion was officially inaugurated on the fair's opening day by the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik.
The inaugural event saw attendance from senior regulatory and market officials, including Vikas Sukhwal, CGM, RD, WRO, SEBI, and Naveen Sharma, CGM, SEBI, alongside NSE officials and market participant representatives. Their presence highlighted a coordinated commitment to broadening the reach of investor education initiatives to diverse demographics.
The initiative leverages the commercial platform of the trade fair to link regular business practices with the core principles of sound investing.
'Just as trade and commerce rest on informed decision-making, careful planning, and trust between parties, successful investing calls for similar traits, including market awareness, continuous discipline, patience, and well-informed decision-making,' NSE said in a statement.
'NSE aims to move beyond conventional awareness channels and connect with citizens in an environment that is engaging, accessible, and reaches a wide and diverse audience,' it added.
The initiative focuses on several core areas, including investor rights and responsibilities, informed decision-making, safe participation, financial planning basics, awareness regarding SEBI-verified applications, grievance redressal mechanisms, and identifying and avoiding investment frauds.
Visitors at the pavilion receive simplified education material and take part in interactive learning activities such as quiz competitions, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and the 'Scam No Game' module. The pavilion also convenes all Market Infrastructure Institutions and associations under one roof to handle investor queries and facilitate complaint redressal directly for traders, young adults, families, and first-time investors.
