REDMOND, Washington: Microsoft is offering voluntary buyouts to around 60,000 employees across major divisions including Copilot, Xbox and Windows, Business Insider reported on October 26, as the technology giant expands an earlier voluntary exit program.
The company did not immediately confirm how many employees the offer would affect.
A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that the program will cover key divisions including AI experiences, Copilot, finance, human resources, Xbox and Windows + Devices.
The source said the program excludes marketing, commercial business, and security.
"This offer will be available to eligible employees in participating teams in Canada, India, the United Kingdom and the United States at level 70 and below," Microsoft said in a blog post on Monday.
Microsoft said the offer was a time-limited, voluntary program that built on insights gained from an earlier voluntary retirement program.
