Halfway to 2030, how far has the world come on its "30 by 30" biodiversity goal?

So far, 18.4% of land and inland waters and 10% of ocean are protected or conserved -- on its way but still short of the 30% target.

Funding is a major hurdle. Developed countries have committed to increasing biodiversity finance for developing nations, but a significant funding gap remains.

As COP17 takes stock of global progress, the question is: Can countries turn their commitments into action before 2030?
